TESTIMONIALS

I began golf at around 13
years old and have now been playing for
4 years. I started with my dad playing
at Brooklands (pitch and putt) and later
moved to Hill Barn. Keith started at
Hill Barn about 1 year after my arrival
there. I immediately started having
lessons with Keith when my handicap was
11 but i was struggling to break 90.
Keith began going through with me the
basic techniques including posture,
grip, alignment and the way the body
moves. It all sounds so difficult but
Keith's style of coaching is simple and
easy to understand. he is clear and
makes sure everyone understands what
they need to practice. He cares deeply
about all his pupils golf and their
progression and has helped all the
golfers he has work with due to his
commitment, organisation and passion.
Without Keith's coaching i would be
still be stuck at high single figures
but now play off 4. Also there would be
no Hill Barn junior section without his
hard work. I would recommend him to any
golfer (whatever level they are at)

When I thought about
having some lessons with Keith i was
unsure what to think, as i've had a few
before with a different company/ coach
which really didn't go down that well,
this was because they went into so much
detail on the first visit, which kind of
put me off having lessons again..
However this was not the case when i met
Keith, we spoke about what we were
aiming to do in the lessons proceeding
and this already sounded better and
easier to take in.
In the lessons to follow we went through
many different stages, including the use
of the Core, setup, swing, positioning,
routine ect.. it sounds a lot to take in
but trust me its not.. this is due to
the nature of the teaching, Keith takes
you through it step by step making sure
you know exactly what is going on and
wont move on until he is sure you
understand it, there is also a really
good atmosphere, you feel like you can
have a laugh and enjoy yourself but at
the same time getting down to the
business of teaching.
To prove it works my handicap has
already been cut and this is only after
a few lessons, i would definitely
recommend him to others and infact i
have done.

I have been playing golf for several
years and struggled to get my handicap
to 18. I had lessons with several club
pros which only seemed to confuse me and
ended up being more destructive than
constructive. A friend of mine then
started to see Keith and recommended
that I go and see him. I was very
sceptical and declined. Then after only
a few weeks I realised that I was losing
money every round of golf I played and
after 6 months his handicap had dropped
by 6. Needless to say I booked some
lessons. I’ve now had five lessons with
Keith and have already dropped three
shots. More importantly I’m now winning
some of my money back and enjoying my
golf so much more. I cannot recommend
Keith enough. Several friends have now
had lessons with him and he is now just
known affectionately by us as ‘the
Guru’.

Three years ago my 10 year old son
Joseph became interested in golf. After
a year of lessons with various very
capable teachers we discovered Keith
Renwick at Hill Barn and his embryonic
Juniors section. Under Keith’s tutelage
Joe entered and won the Sussex Golf
Union Tigger tour in his first season,
2008.Following steady improvement
through regular lessons in 2009 Joe
yesterday won the Sussex under 14’s
Championship. |
|
I was not a golfer 3 years ago either
but took the game up along with Joe and
my younger son William. From a
combination of lessons myself and
absorbing my sons lesson I am now
playing off 12 and thoroughly enjoying
the challenge of the game at the
camaraderie of a great club and Keith’s
teaching ethic. |
|
With regard to the junior section, all
boys are given a great opportunity to
play tournaments and represent the club
no matter what their ability all that
Keith asks is practise and enthusiasm. |
|
My only regret is that we didn’t start
our golf and find Keith earlier. |

As a former 22 handicapper only going in
the wrong direction, it took hitting
rock bottom on a golf tour for me to
take remedial action. I had taken a few
lessons over the years with different
club pro’s which had given me a
temporary fix but never really enjoyed
the lessons so didn’t continue. I was
therefore reluctant to have further
lessons. However Keith was recommended
to me by others on the same golf tour
who had also suffered similar pain and
had seen their handicap drop
dramatically. I therefore booked a
course of 5 lessons. |
|
The results were instantaneous. I won my
first competition within a month,
dropped 5 shots within four months and
have dropped further in the last two
months. The money I paid for the lessons
has more than been recouped not just in
terms of the money won from competitions
but the pure enjoyment I have gained out
of hitting the ball well. |
|
The difference is Keith is a proper
coach. He simplifies everything,
strips away all of your faults and gives
you a solid set up and swing to work
with. And because he relies on
recommendations, he invests time in
you. I have never had a lesson
finish on the hour, some going way over
it until we achieve what we set out to
do. |
|
Unfortunately I recommended Keith to my
best mate who has already dropped a shot
after 2 lessons and is now taking money
off me! Thoroughly enjoyable and very
effective, I couldn’t recommend Keith
highly enough. |

My son Jordan started
playing golf 18mths ago in the Autumn of
2008 and a few months |
|
afterwards began having
lessons with Keith. |
|
His starting handicap of
24 is now 5 and he is playing at county
level. Keith’s |
|
commitment and support
for Jordan over the last year has been
exceptional. |
|
His teaching skill and
knowledge has produced stunning results
and his enthusiasm |
|
for the game is
inspiring. Jordan really enjoys being a
part of the growing and |
|
successful junior section
at Hill Barn and is looking forward to
continuing to work |
|
with Keith to improve his
game with every confidence. |

“I had a series of six lessons
with Keith over the summer, and it has improved
my game, by giving
me the tools to hit the ball correctly. Keith
put me at ease every lesson, with his relaxed, but professional
approach to each lesson. He came up with some interesting alternative exercises in
the course of the lessons, and I have to say I enjoyed every one of them. My golf
swing now feels more fluid, and relaxed, and I now feel that every time I go onto the
course, I have the ability to play a reasonable round of golf. Thank you Keith.”

As a senior member at HILLBARN
GC, I’ve enjoyed the last 6 years trying to play
golf and everything to do with HillBarn, with
friendly club members and a very good set up.
Being competitive I always wanted
to improve but having developed cataracts in
both eyes 2 years ago I was having difficulty.
At the end of 2007 I had one eye done and
the second eye done in February 2009.
During 2008, together with others
senior members, I decided to try your
group improver lessons and
again in the spring of this year, learning more
about the basic mechanics of a
proper swing and address.
I can not
profess to be a good golfer but the improvement
I have achieved in the last 12
months, with your help, has definitely surprised
me, having reduced my 18 handicap to a
recent 14 handicap. Not bad for someone
approaching 69 yrs. of age.
Your
pleasant manner, patience and style of teaching
has helped me no end and has also
helped other members too from comments I have
heard.
Long may you
coaching lessons continue here at Hill Barn GC.
You may never know I may
get into single figures.!! (In my dreams !)

Dear Keith
Although having
played golf for a number of years, I had not
played for six months following a hip
replacement. Many of the ladies in our section
had been having
lessons with Keith, and saying how much they
were enjoying them and how their
golf had improved, so I thought that I would join
them, being a bit rusty. I then began to
understand all aspects of the game, thanks to
Keith's expertise in explaining
everything, with endless patience and without
making me feel completely incompetent. My game
has improved beyond all measure. I think I have
been one of his biggest challenges, but he has risen to
the task admirably. I really amenjoying the lessons and my golf now. If he can
sort me out, he can sort anybody!
Thanks
Keith, Stella Lindfield.

10
reasons to invest in golf lessons with Keith
Renwick by Eddie |
|
and Judith Burch |
|
There are so many
reasons why golf lessons with Keith are a good |
|
investment but
here are just 10 of them:
|
|
|
|
1. Keith is well organised and has thought
through what
he |
|
plans for each
individual lesson.
|
|
2. His psychology of welcome is excellent – he
accentuates the |
|
positive
with all of his students.
|
|
3. He has a sound golf philosophy which
underpins the advice |
|
he gives. |
|
4. He has
excellent teaching skills.
|
|
5. His approach to analysis of what a student
requires is |
|
meticulous – no
stone is left unturned.
|
|
6. He is polite, patient and above all, not
patronising. |
|
7. He sets objectives for each session so
students know what |
|
they have
achieved.
|
|
8. He plans ahead and sets practice targets for
students in |
|
between lessons to
ensure progress is consolidated.
|
|
9. He is a good
listener.
|
|
10. He is concerned to ensure that students
enjoy their golf |
|
but he will coach those who aspire to the
highest standards |
|
to
achieve them. |
|
|
|
“We
are thoroughly enjoying our golf sessions with
Keith and the |
|
improvements are tangible” |

Dear Keith. |
|
Chris has been a junior member at
Hill Barn golf club for only 4 years |
|
now and has progressed very well,
but since Keith has been giving |
|
Chris lessons his game has
improved to another level in a very short |
|
time. |
|
Keith has helped Chris with his
game in which his handicap has |
|
gone from 15 to 10.
|
|
As Chris is part of the junior
team, you can see the progress made by |
|
all of the juniors, and there
handicap that have come down. |
|
If anybody is considering golf
lessons juniors/ adults then I truly
|
|
recommend that you give Keith a
try. |
|
Thank you |

8 Week 'Beginners' Programme |
|
We began our course of
lessons with Keith in October 2007, our only
|
|
golfing experience being a
poor round of pitch and putt! Within
a |
|
couple of weeks we had both developed a good
swing and moved on to |
|
the art of chipping and putting. We found
ourselves looking forward to |
|
our Sunday morning lessons very much. After only
eight lessons we |
|
cannot believe the progress we have made in such
a short space of |
|
time. |
|
Keith not only taught us how to conquer the
various aspects of golf, |
|
he
also explained why his methods worked so well.
This makes it |
|
much easier to understand and helps when you are
faced with a |
|
particular
problem.
Keith is a very patient tutor, lessons are
relaxed |
|
and very enjoyable due to his
friendly nature. We would highly |
recommend lessons to
anyone who would like to learn golf from
|
|
scratch or improve their
game. |

Having
reached semi retirement I was determined, given
more time, |
|
to play more golf and to reduce my handicap of
13. However the |
|
opposite happened and I found myself struggling
to play consistent |
|
golf. |
|
Knowing Keith well and appreciating his
excellent understanding of the |
|
golf swing I booked a series of lessons. |
|
Keith immediately adapted to me as a student and
I found his |
|
simplified theories really easy to understand. |
| |
|
My posture, grip, swing plane and timing
improved very quickly and |
|
soon helped with my consistency on the
golf course. |
|
I am now enjoying my golf again for the
first time in a long time and |
|
even managed to play a round recently at
9 over par. We are now |
|
concentrating on my short game and I am
already seeing substantial |
|
benefits. |

Thank you, Keith!......... |
| I
think I can safely say that I probably
speak for my whole group, but I just
wanted to put on record my appreciation
for Keith Renwick’s help to myself and
other lady ‘improvers’ who have been
much enjoying our special - and very
economical – group coaching sessions! |
| |
|
Keith
seems to have endless patience and
relates to each and every one of us as
individuals and has a very natural and
friendly manner. The main thing is he
seems to enjoy the lessons as much as we
do! His teaching skills are such that
everything is explained in a very easy
to understand way – and I think it’s
true to say that we have each gained a
measurable improvement in our game
because of the time he has spent with
us. Everything he says seems to make
such perfect sense and he is very quick
to spot exactly what needs to be worked
on. |
|
|
|
In
essence, he really knows what he is
talking about and I think he is going to
be an incredible asset to the Club. It
is so good to know that he will be
around to call on for extra tuition in
the future when something is just not
going right out there on the course! |
